When planning Wedding flowers consider choosing a color pallet instead of specific flowers. Your florist would then go to the flower market selecting only premium blooms in your colors and shades, without worrying that the rare specimens you selected had gotten lost in transit. Choosing the freshest of the season in a color pallet is one way of getting the look you desire and getting the biggest show for your dollar spent.

Nature is front and center in design for weddings this year. Reclaimed wood, recycled glass containers, endless pods and other natural elements can all lend to the cause of going green on your big day!

| Mothers of the Bride and Groom, Bridesmaids, and of course the Bride, want to look and feel amazing on the day of the Wedding. Having continuity to your bridal party’s look is key so make sure you have the talent and expertise in place for your big day. Schedule makeup and hair 3-4 months prior to big day. For an elegant look try refreshed neutrals, with pink highlights on eyes and lips. Show your conviction to the classics with a sensual eye and red dramatic lips. |

This historic village is an ideal setting for a wedding in a romantic spot like The Wade Cottages. Photographer Claudia Kronenberg suggests checking out what’s new in wedding photography. With new innovative software photographers are offering brides and grooms personalized websites and creative new designs for albums. While digital photography is hot right now, the question is not digital vs. film, it is rather important to appreciate your photographer’s style and her own personal eye. Another important consideration is what will the photographer do for your final product: having great pictures taken is one thing, but what is done to preserve them is also an important consideration. Claudia uses the analogy that it is like having the fabric of the dress without the seamstress to sew it all together.

Outside events are wonderful if the weather cooperates, and because New England’s weather is so unpredictable it’s best to avoid added stress by planning ahead to anticipate any type of weather. Hosting your event inside in the heart of Nantucket’s town is one way to ensure the comfort of your guests. Nantucket’s elegant world-class Whaling Museum requires little decoration and encourages guests to enjoy the festivities amid important art and objects that stimulate conversation and inspire all ages.

When planning a destination wedding it’s a nice idea to include your guest in a casual event or an activity prior to the wedding day. It is a great icebreaker and sets the tone for an enjoyable fun filled weekend.

Spa Bachlorette parties are very popular, as are the bring your Brunch Bachlorette mornings. Low side buns with twisted textured in upstylings are very trendy now. Hair with lots of texture is the thing. Spray tanning two days before the wedding is very good. Facials and waxing services should NOT be done any closer than ten days before the wedding.

If brides can make the time, a new trend is to spend time on photographs with their groom before the ceremony. If there is limited time after the ceremony and the reception and they need to cut things short because of the ten o’clock curfew, shooting before can add a lot of variety to the photographs. I love to take the bride and groom to an out of the way location and do something fun or wacky that they haven't seen in a bridal magazine. They end up with different locations and we can take our time getting exactly what we want without giving up any of the fun at the reception.

Don’t try to fight the Nantucket humidity. Straight hair is a no, no. Long flowing curls works with the humidity not against it. Also the buns tend to be higher and messier this year.
